Vannah’s flight with K9 Jets
Well, we did it. We are officially in Bologna, Italy. The journey began on Monday morning when we left Atlanta for New Jersey so that Michael and Vannah could embark on their own puppy jet, because of course Vannah got to do that.
It began with a 9+ hour drive to Virginia where we stayed the night at an AirBnB, continuing our road trip the next day to Jersey. I flew out of Newark on United and they went on to Tetterboro to head out on a Gulfstream G-IVSP with K9 Jets. I cannot speak from my own experience of course, but he said that the flight was great, the dogs were comfortable, they all slept, and no-one had to relieve themselves on the plane (dogs, I mean… the humans did of course because, well, open bar). The flight crew were top notch and the captain even came back several times to chat it up with the passengers, carefully stepping over the dogs laying in the aisle on their various blankets.
So the burning question has since been, “What does a flight like this run you?”… 10K from New Jersey to Milan, one-way. If you ask me, it is worth every penny to be able to bring Vannah with us and not have to put her in a cage in the cargo area of a commercial flight. She would be terrified. We have no return flight booked, as K9 Jets only announces new flights about four months out. We will keep our eye on their website beginning January for flights back to the US sometime in March-June.
If you’re interested in flying with K9 Jets, shoot me a message. I can share more about our experience, what you would need to get a dog through customs, and also share personalized coupons (yes, I am now an affiliate partner for a private jet charter for dogs , lol #onbrand).
